Q. Who cannot take ayahuasca?
Q. Is it dangerous to combine some pharmaceutical drugs with ayahuasca?
Yes. Interaction with certain pharmaceutical medications (including some over-the-counter drugs and certain herbs) can be potentially life threatening. It is safest to avoid all drugs when taking ayahuasca, but certain psychiatric medications, stimulants, antihistamines and antibiotics are all substances that may have interactions with ayahuasca. A two-week period during which these substances aren’t used is advised, but this should be reviewed on an individual basis.
